Efekta, Education First’s (EF) EdTech offshoot, has launched what it calls the world’s largest AI-driven English-learning initiative designed to transform language education for up to four million students and their teachers across Latin America.

What the Program Offer

The initiative introduces two AI-powered tools:

  • Classroom AI: Automates repetitive tasks such as grading and lesson planning, giving educators more time to focus on student engagement.
  • Addi (AI Tutor): A personalized virtual tutor delivering dynamic English-learning modules tailored to each student’s proficiency level and progress.

Proven Impact & Massive Scale

Efekta’s platform has already demonstrated measurable success:

  • Since 2022, over 4 million students in Latin America have used the platform.
  • In Paraná, Brazil, a cohort of 750,000 students achieved a 32-32.5% improvement in standardized English test scores over two years.
  • Globally, Efekta has reached 24 million learners, including corporate clients like McDonald’s, Amazon, and Nike, as well as universities and governments.

Beyond Latin America

Efekta’s AI solutions extend globally:

  • Supporting 10,000 learners in Rwanda’s tourism and hospitality sector.
  • Recognized with a 2023 Learning Technologies Gold Award.
  • Covers all four core language skills-speaking, listening, reading, and writing-with real-time AI feedback.
